“He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike - an abomination to the Lord.” Proverbs 17:15
Do you remember the old cartoons such as Tom and Jerry, or Bugs Bunny? When presented with a moral dilemma an angelic version of Tom or Bugs would appear on one shoulder and a devilish version would appear on the other, and they would try to pull Tom or Bugs one way or the other.
Inside each of us in the potential for good and for evil, for sin and for righteousness. Through His Word, God give us the ability to discern what is good and what is not. Therefore, we have not excuse when we call good evil and evil good. We only have one recourse - to repent and seek forgiveness through Jesus Christ, letting God set our feet back on to paths of righteousness, rather than being led astray by the foolishness of the world and our own flawed thinking.
Prayer: Almighty God, your Word is true and good and does not lead a person astray, but rather leads to paths of righteousness. Cause me to seek your will always through your Word so that I might discern what is true, pure, good, beautiful, and righteous, not being deceived by the Evil One or those in league with him. Amen.
