“This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
Aside from September 11, I cannot think of any special days in September with a fixed date - at least none come to mind. Yet, there is something about “September” keeps making me think, “Oh, it’s September (fill in the date). Its…” But then, nope. It’s just any other day.
So what gives. Well, maybe every day in September is significant. Maybe every day of every month is significant BECAUSE, the Lord has made everyday. He created. He set the moon, the sun, and the stars in their courses. He put us in the midst of Creation. He sustains and blesses us, and He abundantly provides all that we need. Most important of His provision is Jesus Christ who redeemed us from our sin and continues to bring forgiveness by God’s grace.
So Happy September 19th everyone. Celebrate this day and all the days that the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in them.
Prayer: Lord God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I thank you for creating, redeeming, and sanctifying me. May I rejoice in this day and all the days in which I live. Even in the dark days when troubles come, may I have the ability to see your light, grace, and mercy. Amen.
(P.S. I have just been informed that it is National Talk Like a Pirate Day. “Well, shiver me timbers, matey. Aaarrggh! To day be an extra special day.).
