“But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted his voice and addressed them: ‘Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day…” Acts 2:14-15
God can certainly change things. He makes things happen. We see a completely changed Saint Peter with the coming of the Holy Spirit. No longer is he the disciple who denied Jesus. He is now a bold proclaimer of the work of God. He will continue his address, and will boldly proclaim Jesus publicly. He will do so boldly.
God has a way of making a difference in our lives, differences we could never imagine. He has a way of changing us for the good and for His good purposes. Do we need to do anything? That’s a good question. Can anyone thwart God if he decides to do something? I would say no. The better way, however, is to be open to where He leads and joyfully follow.
Prayer: Lord God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - open my heart so I might follow you wherever you lead. May I do so with joy and love toward you and my neighbor. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
